Desktop Publishing - Intermediate 2

The requirements for this course are it would be of benefit if you have completed a Computer Art using Word course or having a good knowledge of using graphics with text.

This course is designed to allow students to become familiar with using a desktop publishing package, working with text and graphics and using various formatting features to enhance production.

Course Content

Identifying the hardware and software commonly used in the production of a printed publication.

Explaining the terminology and main stages involved in the production of a printed publication.

Use appropriate software to incorporate display type, text, graphic images and elements to  a prescribed format by:

  • producing a publication for display on a single page using text and graphics
  • produce a two-page Publication using a combination of text and graphics, and enhancing those with borders, colour etc.
  • aligning objects
  • rotating or flip objects
  • changing order of objects
